Day 1: Hanoi
“We are beginning our descent into Hanoi. Please return to your seat and fasten your seatbelt,” announces the cabin crew chief. In less than thirty minutes, you will land in the heart of Vietnam’s capital, a true crossroads of colonial past, millennia-old heritage, and vibrant Asian energy. A first taste of Asia awaits, amidst the bustling streets, the tranquil lakes, and the captivating aromas of the markets. Depending on your flight time, we may offer you an initial immersion in Hanoi’s Old Quarter: a walking tour through lively alleyways, past small temples, neighborhood markets, and traditional cafes.

Day 2: Hanoi - Village Duong Lam - Son Tay
Departing from Hanoi, this day trip takes you to discover the village of Duong Lam, a place steeped in spirituality and tradition. After a stop at the Khai Nguyen Pagoda, you’ll explore the ancient alleyways by bicycle and on foot, passing communal houses, traditional homes, and local delicacies. Day 3: Village Duong Lam - Bac Ha
After a leisurely breakfast and a peaceful morning at the resort, we departed around 10:00 AM for Bac Ha. The approximately five-hour drive, punctuated by a lunch break along the way, saw the landscapes gradually transform: checkerboard rice paddies, deep valleys, and steep hills marked our entry into the mountainous north. The final, winding stretch revealed breathtaking panoramas, especially at the end of the day when golden light bathed the peaks. Upon arrival, we checked into the Bac Ha Legend Home. In the afternoon, we strolled through the lively center of this small town, enjoying impromptu dances, local music, and street vendors, far from the tourist crowds.

Day 4: Bac Ha Market - Hoang Su Phi
The Bac Ha market offers an immersion into the local life of northern Vietnam: a whirlwind of colors, smells, and sounds where ethnic minorities gather to trade, sell, and share. Day 16: Hoi An – Guided Discovery

In the evening, you’ll embark on a unique experience aboard a vintage Vespa, cruising through the city: sunset views from a rooftop, delicious stops at charming local eateries, and live music in a lively bar. A flavorful and vibrant immersion into Saigon’s nightlife, concluding with a return to the hotel or a more festive stroll in the Bui Vien district.

Where do I need to take my outbound and return flight?
The starting point is Hanoi, as the trip begins in the capital. Ideally, you should arrive on a Thursday to spend your first night in Hanoi, your second in Son Tay, and be in Bac Ha on Saturday evening to enjoy the Sunday market. Domestic flights (Hanoi–Hue and Da Nang–Ho Chi Minh City) are not included in the price, but we can, of course, arrange them for you.
What is the best time for this trip?
The best time is between April and August. This is when the weather is more favorable in the North and the rice paddies offer particularly spectacular landscapes, with their shades of green and terraces flooded with light.
What level of physical activity is required for this trip?
This trip is suitable for all travelers. The guides adapt to your physical condition and preferences. Long hikes are possible for those who wish, but there are always shorter and more accessible alternatives, so everyone can enjoy it at their own pace.
Are car journeys in the northern mountains very long?
Yes, some journeys can last between 3 and 5 hours a day. The distances aren't very long, but the mountain roads can be winding or sometimes in poor condition. That's part of the adventure: you take the time to stop regularly to admire the views, take photos, or simply breathe the fresh air, which makes the trip less strenuous.
Will the coolness be a problem?
In the northern mountains, mornings and evenings can be cool, especially in spring and early summer. It's advisable to bring some warm clothing (a vest, a light fleece, a windbreaker) to be comfortable in all conditions. During the day, temperatures are generally pleasant.
Will I meet local residents ?
Yes, numerous opportunities for encounters punctuate the journey. You'll meet different ethnic minorities in the markets, be welcomed by families in the hamlets, and share simple everyday moments, often far removed from mass tourism. These exchanges are among the highlights of the tour.
Can I make any changes to this trip?
Yes, it is possible to customize the trip. However, the northern section is more difficult to adjust because accommodation and route options are limited. For added comfort, some stages can be extended by adding extra nights to avoid changing hotels too frequently.
