Gunung Rinjani National Park in Indonesia
This park is located on the island of Lombok in Indonesia and is home to Mount Rinjani. Reaching an altitude of over 3,700 meters, its ascent is a great challenge for trekking enthusiasts. However, be warned: you need to be in good physical condition because the climb and descent are very steep and conditions can sometimes be difficult. Once you reach the summit, the view is breathtaking! You’ll be immersed in a magnificent panorama overlooking the crater of this still-active volcano. Watching the sunset is also an experience not to be missed!
Khao Sok National Park in Thailand
Probably one of the most magnificent parks in Thailand! As a fun fact, between December and March, it’s home to the world’s largest flower, the rafflesia. To find it, you’ll have to trek deep into the jungle for almost two days. The rafflesia is well worth the effort!
Khao Sok is also known for its adjacent lake, Cheow Lan Lake, from which stunning karst formations rise, and which is home to floating hotels. Perfect for spending a night surrounded by nature, in a very well-preserved park!
Phong Nha National Park in Vietnam
This site is perhaps one of the country’s best-kept secrets! Indeed, this park, located in the Luang Namtha region, is home to exceptional flora and fauna, including elephants, leopards, and lush jungle. Many Khamu tribal villages are nestled within the park, and it’s even possible to stay with local families in traditional wooden houses built on stilts. It’s the perfect way to share moments with the locals, immersing yourself in the heart of Lao’s traditional culture.
Khao Yai National Park in Thailand
Located just a 3-hour drive from Bangkok, Khao Yai National Park is home to an incredible number of animal species! It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest reserves in Thailand. On the agenda: a trek with a specialist ranger to try and spot crocodiles, bears, macaques, and other monkeys, and with a bit of luck, elephants. There are several elephants in the park.
